Before Hiring a Vintage Hat

Prices for the vintage hire range from £75 - £225

Initially, we recommend that you book an appointment to choose the hat you would like to hire. We will make sure the hat suits you and your outfit. Please bring the full outfit you are planning to wear to the occasion, if you have this. If not… Lets start with the hat!

The hirer will be asked to sign an agreement at the time of booking specific to vintage hire. Due to the hats being of an older make many of the techniques and materials no longer exist we recommend extra carefulness and care when hiring. If the hat is lost or damaged, the amount payable is the value of the hat plus an extra hire charge specified in the agreement.

The agreement will state the value to replace/repair the particular item if it is lost, stolen or damaged (including any dents, loss of decoration or water damage). Due to these hats being vintage and therefore difficult or impossible to replace & repair there might be a larger fee if a damaged hat is returned. We will discuss this with you at the time of hire, to make sure you are fully aware of the hire process.

Hire Duration

Hire duration is for a maximum of three days.

If the hat is not returned within this period, Ultimate Design Hats will charge for extra hire time. Subsequent days without notice will apply. If you need a hat longer than three days, please call in advance to discuss with us. We will always do our best to help you!

Cancellation of a hat-hire must be made no less than one week before the event in order for a full refund to be issued. A £30 handling fee will be applied to all cancellations.

We understand that the Scottish weather is inevitable, although care should be taken when wearing a vintage hat/headpiece in the rain. All hats should be kept under an umbrella at all times..

The hat hire fee is for one wear/one day only. The hat must be returned in person and not via a third party unless previously discussed with Ultimate Design Hats.

Payment For Hire And Deposit

Must be made at the time of booking

Credit card details will be taken as a form of deposit and will only be deducted accordingly after a signed contract between the hirer and Ultimate Design Hats.

All details below must be completed before we release the hat.

• Payment

Account details will be required for the refund to be processed once the hat has been returned in perfect condition and within the time frame agreed.

All hat boxes must be returned, if any damage occurs to a box an additional charge of £15 will be applied.
